So here I am sitting with my foot on the desk cursing my niceness.
If I weren´t so goddamn helpful I´d be downtown with Laura right now looking at my pix from the Busta concert rather than waiting for Mariano to bring me crutches so I can hobble my ass to the john.
This morning I did my work and Mercedes asked me to stay at home until 10 to pick up some pills for her at the pharmacy and more flouride for Merceditas. I said sure cause I wasn´t meeting Laura until 11.30 and it only takes 40 minutes to get to Plaza de España from my house. So I went to the pharmacy and got what I needed then went back home.
Got paid and then started collecting my things to go. Mercedes said, "Espera un momento que voy yo tambien y me puedes ayudar con las maletas." Okay, no prob. I don´t mind. I´m leaving anyway. So I grab one of the suitcases and out we go. Go up the steps, no prob. Leave the suitcase next to the door.
Now our building door has a step as soon as you enter so there´s a space of about 2 inches between the ground and the door. Which I always thought was dangerous but nobody ever seemed to get hurt on it.
But there´s a first time for everything, right?
So I open the door, not realizing my foot was in the way and WHAM. biggest fucking puncture I´ve ever given myself. Even worse than when Alena cut my hand open with scissors when I was 11.
I´m bleeding a LOT. Like the crime scene on CSI. My new beach sneakers from Almeria are now completely stained with blood inside. Luckily not OUTside. So I can still wear them. I ask Mercedes for a handkerchief or a kleenex but she only had a tampon. Better than nothing. I slapped a tampon on my wound while she called Quitin to help me to the hospital.
Asshole tells me to WALK there (it´s 2 blocks away), but I was like, "HELLO. QUE ME ESTOY SANGRANDO. No es una herida en que se puede poner una tirita y dejarla." So he finally (reluctantly) gets his car and drives me there. I hobble into the emergency room and they take my passport and put me in a waiting area. After about 10 minutes a woman who was getting a checkup after falling down the steps called someone in to see me cause she felt sorry. I was still bleeding and it hurt like a BITCH. Not the skin... I felt it in the bones of my toes and the muscle where I´d been cut.
A woman came in and took the tampon and put an ace bandage type thing on it and then put me in a wheelchair. Wheeled me over to radiology and they took 2 x-rays of my foot. Then they left me there for like 10 minutes doing NOTHING. not telling me anything or doing anything. Finally some dude I couldn´t see said to someone, "Y esa chica? Que?" and someone came and wheeled me back to the waiting room.
So I´m in the waiting room with some guy for another few minutes when a doctor comes in and takes me to a surgeon. When they said CIRJANO when I entered, I FREAKED. I have NEVER had surgery. NEVER broken a bone. NEVER had stitches.
And I am VERY sensitive about my feet because of all the times they´ve cut my toes open for ingrown toenails.
Well they put me on the table with my now inflated foot and ask me if I had my tetnus shot. I wasn´t really thinking and didn´t understand what disease it was. Then I realized because hello, I´d slammed a rusty door into my foot and that should be the first shot they ask about. I told them I had it when I was 22 and they thought I had it three times instead of twice because you´re supposed to get it at 14. I tried explaining that my high school SUCKED and just wrote it off even though I dind´t have it but I needed to get it to study in Spain. So I did have it. Luckily they believed me and I didn´t get another one. WHEW.
BUT I did get three stitches and I FREAKED when they did it. I was grabbing my arms so hard I left marks. They did it with no anestesia. Yeah my foot was already hurting like a bitch so it wasn´t THAT different, but still. It fucking HURT. And just the feeling that someone was SEWING my FOOT together was REPULSIVE to me. Ugh. I thought I was going to pass out.
Isn´t it amazing that I worked at the morgue and had no issues with seeing fetuses washed up on the beach or people who shot themselves with crossbows but I can´t stand the idea of my foot being sewed up?
They said I was going to need crutches until at the very least Tuesday. Probably more. Gave me some perscriptions. Gotta keep it elevated and with ice 20 minutes of every 3 hours. I got sent home in a taxi and they were unable to grasp the fact that I would be ALONE in the house until 9 PM.
I never realized how hard it is to handle a wheelchair. It´s REALLY difficult. I never want to be in one! At least not a non-electric one. Getting to the house without touching the ground with my cast was one of the most exhausting things I´ve ever done. And Quitin did not seem all that eager to help me get there.
Mariano called as soon as I arrived. He said he would come back and get me the crutches. I´m going to call Johanna and see if she can ask Patricia´s dad to bring Mercedes home today. Mariano doesn´t have her number.
And yeah. That´s all. Here I am with my foot on the desk watching Spanish gossip shows cause I have nothing else to do. I will DEFINITELY be updating my livejournal over the next few days cause I can´t do ANYTHING ELSE.
GODDAMMIT.
I hope I get this fucking thing off before next Friday!!! I WANNA SEE ROSA!!!!

I´ll probably be making a lot of private entries these next few weeks cause a lot of shit´s been happening and it´s not stuff I really wanna share with everyone, ya know?
In 12 minutes I´m heading towards the parking lot at Bernabeu to meet the Bisbal fan club and go to ALMERIA ALMERIA!!!!
I´m looking forward to getting away (again) but the lack of sleep 2 nights a week is starting to wear on me. I´m going to take the first shift of the line (about 5 or 6 AM-whenever) so I can SLEEP. Gotta remember to put the suntan lotion on before I conk out so I don´t wake up a lobster. Then afterwards Ivan and I are gonna go around Almeria and see the sights and go to the BEACH. I hope it´s not nasty there. Almeria didn´t get a hugely high rating in Lonely Planet :p
Already packed... ready to chill with my friends. Bought myself a new CD of Cantabrian music today. And I finally replaced my broken Buleria CD. Also bought 100 años de soledad. I think it´s sinful that I have a degree in Spanish lit and I only read "Of Love and Other Demons" (in English). I also never read El Quijote. So I gotta make up for that.
Anyway off I go to eat and then to ALMERIA.

heather got stuck in the random luggage check this morning because they thought the styrofoam confetti from the Busta concert was coke in pill form and she dropped my Bisbal pictures and the woman who was checking the suitcase was apparently a fan and had to show them to everyone in the room.
She told me, "I gonna KILL you Malika."
hehehe.
Yo HEather did you die or are you home?

"I can honestly say that my sweet serial killer is a lady's man now. Only if I was a real woman I could bring about little future serial killers to terrorize NYC like my husband did. How [New Yorkers] would of loathed the Zodiac Children." - pre-op transexual lover of the Zodiac killer

Wow. That is so scary... Heather and I used to go to that park all the time... It´s right behind my bedroom WINDOW!!
Coed hunt ends Corpse in park may be missing Juilliard jogger By DEREK ROSE, TONY SCLAFANI and FERNANDA SANTOS DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Mystery turned to tragedy yesterday when volunteer searchers combing an upper Manhattan park found the naked body of a woman believed to be a missing Juilliard student. Cops are investigating the death as a homicide, said several police sources, with positive identification expected as soon as today.
On Wednesday, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said “The cause of death, just determined by the medical examiner, is strangulation.”
Pixieish aspiring actress Sarah Fox, 21, had disappeared after she left her apartment in running tights and a T-shirt about 5 p.m. on May 19 to jog through nearby Inwood Hill Park.
"Your gut drops. I just didn't want to find this thing," said John Higgins, a next-door neighbor of Fox's and one of the searchers who found the body lodged in mud amid woods and thorny bushes on the northern edge of the park.
"No one would go in there, at least not of their own volition," Higgins said.
The body matches Fox's description, including a tribal tattoo on her lower back, a police source said.
Ten volunteers walking through the park around 1 p.m. spotted the body on a damp patch of ground, 200 feet south of a toll plaza, between the Henry Hudson Parkway and some Amtrak railroad tracks.
Worried classmates first went looking for Fox, a South Jersey native and third-year drama student at the prestigious performing arts school, at the park early Thursday.
They handed out pictures and flyers with Fox's description to anyone who would take them.
They reported Fox missing Friday, and cops launched a search Saturday with helicopters and bloodhounds but came up empty.
Relatives and friends went back to the park Sunday, distributed flyers and offered a $10,000 reward for information on Fox's disappearance.
Cops and two busloads of Fox's relatives and friends were canvassing the park yesterday when the body was found.
After the grim discovery, the volunteers emerged from the woods and gathered at a baseball field off Dyckman St., crying and comforting one another.
"There's still hope," said Sarah Wilson, a close friend of Fox's who participated in the search. "[The body] is still unidentified."
The mud and recent heat accelerated the body's decomposition, a police source said. However, cops are all but convinced that the body is Fox's and suspect foul play, several sources said. They were checking surveillance cameras in the area and using a police dog to search for evidence.
A positive identification and cause of death will not be available until the medical examiner performs an autopsy today.
The 5-foot-2, 110-pound Fox grew up in Pennsauken, N.J., and moved to New York after she enrolled at Juilliard.

This girl lived in my building in NY. She went jogging the other day and just vanished.
May 25, 2004 -- A $10,000 reward has been posted for information about missing Juilliard School student Sarah Fox. Personal problems may have led to the Fox, 21, vanishing Wednesday, a law-enforcement source said. "She was not totally happy with herself," the source said.
Anyone with information about Fox should call police at (212) 927-9712.

This is from Nikita (teaghlach)
Rules 1. Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed. 2. I'll reply and give you five questions to answer. 3. You'll update your LJ with the five questions answered. 4. You'll include this explanation. 5. You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed. And it just keeps going, and going, and going.
1) What is the most important lesson you've learned so far in life? That you can´t become too attached to anything because it doesn´t stay and nothing matters in the end. Not friends, not family, not anything material. Death takes away those you love and fire, floods, etc destroys anything material. Not even memories stay with you because age and illness can destroy that. Live for the moment and accept anything life throws at you, no matter how shitty it is. Maybe it´ll lead to something good some day.
2) What is one think that you think the american government does RIGHT. The people are not starving and the few that ARE starving either are being tortured, illegal immigrants or are too lazy to take advantage of many government programs we have. The sense of security is at a much higher level than in the majority of other countries. Yes, there´s the fear of terrorism, but I don´t have to worry about my government secretly kidnapping me then beating and raping me because I don´t like Bush. Anyone can go to school. Doesn´t matter where you´re from or what you make. children MUST by law go to school. I found out here in Spain you can´t go to your zoned school unless you fill a certain number of "point" requirements. Like if your parents are rich and don´t want to pay for private school, it could be difficult for you to go to your zoned public school.
3) Has Spain made you happy? In some senses, yes. In others, no. I´m happy to be away from my country and seeing the same things I´ve been seeing for 10 years. I´m happy to be out of my mother´s house. I´m happy to be perfecting my second language by using it every day instead of talking over MSN. But at the same time I´ve been disillusioned about some things, I don´t like living under someone else´s rules and the things that really keep me down will not change no matter what country I go to. But at the same time I´ve made some incredible friends that I´m sure I´ll have for the rest of my life. They´ve greatly affected my life and I know I´ve opened up new ideas and prospects in theirs.
4) Is there an end? I don´t think so. Even if the universe ends, something has to continue on. There can´t be nothingness. It´s impossible to conceive.
5) How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? one. two. thrrrrrrrrrrree. It takes THREE licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop. You know I TRIED this as a kid. I wrote it down every night. I think I got to 300 something until my mom threw the tootsie pop away. I was VERY upset.
